Just to give them a little extra TLC ….A new layer of foam and a layer of batting was added. The batting layer is to keep the fabric in place too- it will not wrap nicely over the foam.

Centering all of them took some extra fabric- but it is well worth it- when you see the finished seat cushions all matched!!!

The table was painted the white color and when I can get a picture of the complete makeover with the table and the chairs I will add it on here!  This is in a college student apartment now at the University of Alabama.

And wearing a scarf while sewing- maybe not a good idea!  I avoided sewing myself into the seam- but just barely!!!                                                                                                     So maybe you have some old tired cushions that need a life- a new breath of fresh air! Just pick out an updated fabric and get it going….or call the Curtain Lady for help on your project!                                                                                                                                     *My daughter paints too!!!

Please leave a comment if you like!                                                                                         I love hearing from you!

  1. Thanks Shelly! This pattern was a booger to line up- well, it used so much fabric- good thing I had plenty! Usually I can cut 2 across the width- but the way this Ikat design was on there- I could only cut one in the middle- there were 3 of those across and the first and last were too close to the selvage to center! So that was a little frustrating!!! It took the 4 yds I had to cover the 4 cushions!
    Thanks again,
    Cheri

  2. Very nice pattern matching… recovering seat covers is a very effective way to update a tired looking dining set… it is very easy to do, but if you are timid, a professional can always help. It is simple, so it is a good way to try a professional service without investing more than you are comfortable with. From there, the options are a creative Pandora’s Box, and very rewarding!
